I work with adults across the lifespan, particularly those navigating life transitions or seeking to better understand longstanding patterns in their relationships and sense of self. I come to this work with a deep understanding of trauma and the many ways it can shape our daily lives, often in ways that are difficult to recognize on our own.
My clinical interests include relational and attachment trauma, historical and generational trauma, as well as identity exploration and relationship patterns. Additionally, I enjoy supporting people who are queer/trans and/or neuroatypical (including ADHD/autism). Therapy can offer a space to explore our experiences with curiosity and compassion while processing painful memories, feeling stuck in recurring dynamics, or seeking a deeper understanding of ourselves.
My approach is grounded in psychodynamic and relational therapy. I believe our experiences have influenced the ways we relate to ourselves and others, and I also believe we can recognize opportunities for greater awareness, flexibility, and change in the present.
I strive to create a therapeutic relationship that feels collaborative, thoughtful, and grounded—a place where people can bring their full self and feel seen. Former clients have shared that my approach feels compassionate, direct, and insightful.
I can be reached at jolearypsychotherapy@gmail.com. I practice in person and am based out of Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor.
